One of the aspects of amateur radio I enjoy greatly is building kits and homebrew equipment. In college I got an EE degree, but have never worked as an EE so amateur radio gives me a chance to try out some of the stuff I learned in college.

The picture shows my electronics work bench. I've accumulated a bunch of test equipment at various surplus sales and have managed to put together a pretty good setup for building and experimenting with radio.
